Shanda is a recent graduate of Northwest Academy for the Healing Arts, but their journey into the healing arts began in childhood, learning bodywork techniques to help their parents manage chronic pain conditions. Around the same time, Shanda got involved in competitive sports, eventually falling in love with movement arts. They taught tae kwon do through high school and captained a local cheer squad, which rolled over into teaching martial arts and qigong professionally through adulthood.
After returning to college to graduate Summa cum Laude with their Bachelor’s in Health Science, they continued their education to become a Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist, working with a variety of clients to correct compensatory posture and movement patterns, including correcting “tech neck”, rebuilding bilateral strength in stroke survivors, and adaptive gait strategies for cerebral palsy patients.
Now in the next stage of their journey into the healing arts, they are excited to marry all their combined expertise into one bodywork practice. Shanda has been trained in classical Swedish massage techniques, deep tissue, trigger point work, lymphatic drainage, and myofascial release
